West Australian Newspapers has gone live with CCI’s AdDesk advertising system in a multisite implementation integrated with its existing CCI editorial.

The ‘West Australian’, ‘Kalgoorlie Miner’ and ‘The Countryman’ report immediate benefits including increased efficiency in reporting and monitoring of customer relationships and improved copy control, following the upgrade.

The 212-seat system for flagship daily ‘The West’ and  ‘The Countryman’ went into production in May, with the remote title in the mining centre of Kalgoorlie added in June.

Group operations and information technology general manager Liam Roche the commissioning was ahead of schedule and within budget.

“The early decision to take a non-traditional rapid development approach to the project paid off with a near perfect go-live,” he says.

In addition to the reporting and customer relationship monitoring, Roche says a number of business-wide benefits have been achieved, including; a voucherless workflow, improved pagination of all classified products, an automated billing process and the ability for sales managers to track and finalise their products accurately.

The system also introduces a higher level of security which enforces business rules to safeguard the integrity of data.

The system integrates seamlessly with WAN's CCI NewsDesk editorial system to provide ad publication feedback and cross-checks. AdDesk provides a number of workflow improvements and development opportunities including implementation of cross-media advertising strategies on a single platform.
