A good night’s haul for Singapore’s home team

Singapore’s home team, Singapore Press Holdings scooped the lion’s share of prizes in this year’s Asia Media Awards, scooping all three places in two categories.


Across-the-board success in the new social media and mobile publishing categories was only part of the story for the host site of Digital Media Asia, which opened in the city today.


More than 50 media companies from 13 countries took part in the contest formerly part of the Asia Media Awards, the first two days of which have sold out, with 260 people from 24 countries attending.

Best newspaper website:
Gold– The Wall Street Journal;
Silver– APN Online (NZ);
Bronze– The Post Publishing;
Special Award– Yomiuri Shimbun.

Best magazine website:
Gold– Senatus;
Silver– Gaya Favorit Press;
Bronze– Malayala Manorama.

Classifieds website:
Gold– iProperty.com Malaysia;
Silver– Jagran Prakashan;
Bronze– Jobscentral.

Best in digital content, online video journalism:
Gold– Associated Press for ‘Pakistan Flood’;
Silver– The Post Publishing for ‘The World’s Window to Thailand’;
Bronze– Star Publications (Malaysia).

Online Infographics:
Gold– Associated Press for ‘North Korea Succession’;
Silver– Tempo Inti Media;
Bronze– Post Publishing for ‘Shinawatra’s Assets’.

User Generated Content:
Gold– Nation Broadcasting Corporation;
Silver– Kompas Media Nusantara;
Bronze– Singapore Press Holdings.

Best in cross media, editorial coverage:

There were no qualified winners in the Best in mobile media, mobile advertising, and Best in e-reader tablet, e-reader news product categories.
