Pioneering Belgian newspaper publisher Corelio is to use EidosMedia’s Méthode platform for its  bilingual multiple-media news operations.

The country’s largest publishing group, based just outside Brussels, it publishes the Flemish-language daily ‘Der Standaard’ and three other Flemish dailies, plus regional daily ‘Les editions de l’Avenir’, read by 40 per cent of Belgium’s French-speaking population.

News operations of these titles and their associated online editions will move to a common platform based on Méthode.

“This will enable Corelio’s cross-media operations for our print, web and mobile products, installing workflows for each of our titles, and allowing them to share content,” says group chief information officer Renaat Truijen. “This will bring significant benefits in terms of flexibility and productivity. Méthode’s multi-edition functions will be particularly valuable in the production of our French-language daily L’Avenir, which is published in nine different regional editions containing a lot of local content.”

The solution, which replaces two existing editorial systems, will serve about 360 staff in the group’s three newsroooms.
