WAN-Ifra’s 2010 India conference will be held in the Pink City of Jaipur from September 15-16. A date for the event – minus its biennial Expo India trade show – was announced at the end of a two-day seminar on ‘Cost control and revenue opportunities’ in Delhi. The conference – the 18th annual event of WAN-Ifra South Asia – will be held in Jaipur for the first time. It will include parallel production conference and ‘Newsroom Summit South Asia’ events. The first Newsroom Summit for the region will be an extension of that held year in Europe and the Asia Pacific region, and will will focus on convergent newsroom strategies and young reader concepts. The Production Conference will discuss technological innovations, process management and other contemporary newspaper production subjects. Despite the lack of the WAN-Ifra Expo India show, there will be sponsorship opportunities and a limited number of ‘information kiosks’. The organization is inviting submissions of papers on the conference themes to be presented for consideration by the conference programme committee.
