A grand opening at Cantho General Printing Joint Stock Company has marked the launch of the Vietnamese company’s new Tensor single-width press. Present to celebrate the installation of the two-tower, single folder T-400BE newspaper press were Tensor vice president Martina Hozjan Ruda and sales manager Laura Junge Barvinek, along with 150 publishing community members and local government officials. The celebration at the customer's site in Cantho City included traditional Vietnamese song and dance performances, speeches and a demonstration press run followed by a traditional Vietnamese lunch, served al fresco. The shaft-driven press with an H-50 folder exponentially increases Cantho General Printing's newspaper production capacity. The towers are fed by four splicers, with possible capacity up to 32 pages of two-colour tabloid, with the main jobs running 24 tabloid pages with eight pages of four-colour and 16 pages of two-color. Several dailies and weeklies are now printed on the Tensor press. Cantho General Printing prints a variety of magazines, books and newspapers. The new Tensor press was purchased to add pages and color and to support the higher demand for newspaper subscriptions in Vietnam. It is the first new Tensor press installation in Vietnam. VINA Printing Equipment Corporation of Ho Chi Minh City, Tensor's Vietnamese agency, will provide local service support to Cantho General Printing.
