Atex teams with Zissor on digitisation, partners Dell in China

A digitisation project in Brazil will be the first outcome of a partnership between systems developer Atex and digitisation specialist Zissor.

Zissor’s solutions for industrial conversion of newspapers and other print documents into electronically searchable information will be offered by Atex for archive digitisation. The company says this will open new income sources for publishers, increase traffic to their portals and help maintain stakeholder satisfaction… a “second opportunity” to monetise content.

Zissor has been a global provider of digitisation software and services for the last 15 years – not only for archive digitisation, but also as a supplier to the media monitoring industry, with press clipping agencies from BurrellesLuce in the USA to Klipp in Dubai among users.

Zissor chief executive Jon Asakskogen says the partnership will enable them to offer an extended ‘one-stop-shop’ solution to publishers.

“We’re proud to be affiliated with Atex and to be launching our first project in Brazil early next year,” he says.

Latin America chief executive for Atex, Alexandre Carvalho says he is confident the collaboration will bring “unparalleled technologies and solutions” to the media and help them to boost their income.

• Atex has also announced a partnership with Dell China, which it says will strengthen its presence in the Asian media marketplace and its offering to existing customers.

As a solution and service provider, Dell serves customers from major corporations, government agencies, educational institutions, small and medium businesses, and individual consumers with comprehensive capabilities of end-to-end services on application, business process, consulting, infrastructure and support.

Dell Services China general manager Kirk Williams says the partnership will bring unparalleled technologies and solutions to Asian media markets and boost media development in the region.
