Selective feeding of newspaper main products and advertising wrappers is a feature of Müller Martini’s new FlexLiner inserting system, to be launched at WAN-Ifra’s World Publishing Expo in Frankfurt.
The FlexAd functionality (pictured) is expected to deliver a range of new marketing opportunities for newspaper and mailing producers.
The FlexLiner – to be shown with new FlexPack stack formation system – was premiered at DRUPA in May. Its high midrange price-performance ratio is supported by production speeds of up to 30,000 cycles an hour, suiting it to small and medium-sized newspaper printers.
FlexPack is optimised for products that include a large number of inserts and have a strong regionalised focus. It handles all processes from stacking, feeding and labeling bottom sheets, printing and running cover pages, to strapping stacks together are combined into one machine.
At the Frankfurt show, Müller Martini will present concepts including the integration of stitching and trimming of inserts with folding and stitching to include glossy covers or additional stitched inserts. Systems for finishing digitally-printed newspapers will also be a topic.
