European commercial printer Leykam Let’s Print has ordered a 64-page manroland Lithoman for its Breclav site in the Czech Republic following experience in Mullendorf.
The East European site produces magazines, catalogues and advertising inserts on four web presses, with half of production going to customers in central and eastern Europe. Chairman Michael Steinwidder says the new 64-page press will be one of the most productive in eastern Europe. “It will replace an outdated 16-page rotary press,” he says. “Our customers’ requirements are very important to us, especially the need for shorter production times.”
Scheduled to be in production by late 2013, the press will be equipped with autoprint features including AutoJobChange – which initiates job changeovers automatically as soon as the preset value for a run has been reached – and robotic APL automatic plate loading.
manroland Web sales vice president Josef Aumiller says Leykam and manroland are “excellent collaborators” and he is hopeful of repeating the success of the Müllendorf 48-page press installation.
