Baldwin makes it a US$6.6 million hat-trick in Japan

A third order for Baldwin's newspaper press equipment con tinues a run of business from Japan this month, now totalling US$6.6 million. The latest order, worth US$1.8 million, comes from Jomo Shimbun, a major Japanese daily newspaper with a circulation of approximately 312,000. The order includesspray dampening technology, automatic guide roller cleaner, blanket cleaning and press washer systems for two new TKS presses being installed at a new printing plant in Gunma Prefecture, northwest of Tokyo. The installation is expected to be completed in October 2009. Baldwin president and chief executive Karl Puehringer says this is the third major order in Japan announced since early October: "We are pleased that the leading Japanese newspaper companies continue to turn to us for the technology to make their press operations environmentally-friendly, while delivering outstanding colour and print quality and improving the economies of printing.” Earlier this month, Baldwin announced a US$1.5 million order from Chunichi Shimbun and a US$3.3 million order from Sankei Shimbun.
