WAN-Ifra brings news website experts to KL

WAN-Ifra is bringing two new media training sessions to Kuala Lumpur later this month.

• ‘Re-engineering your news websites’ (October
25-26) addresses the need to to stay competitive by continuously optimising news websites.

Existing features are revised or removed and new features are added, and every few 
years the entire site will need to be relaunched with a completely new design and structure. This two-day session looks at how to create successful websites and iPad apps.

Trainer Matthias Kretschmer is the founder and chief executive of leading German consulting and design company, Xalmiento webservices. He has supported many publishers in optimising their web offerings and website launches, including the ‘Daily Telegraph’ (London). Prior to this, Kretschmer worked as a consultant for newspaper newsrooms and as a online project manager with clients including Nokia, Siemens and Stora Enso.

• ‘Search Engine Optimisation for News Websites’ (October
27-28) continues the process: The success of a news website does not only depends of its content but also of the amount 
of traffic it can generate... and technology can help a lot to deliver valuable content to the consumer.

Trainer David Radicke is the founder of Radicke eCommerce specialising in search engine optimisation, web analytics, search engine marketing and e-commerce. He has many years of practical and strategic experience as a manager and a consultant. His clients include large news publishers including Axel Springer, Forbes Russia, Allgemeine Zeitung (Mainz) and IDG.
