New business weekly Focus Malaysia has gone live using Miles 33’s GN4 system.

The publication is a first venture for HCK Media, a division of HCK Capital Group, with an online news portal and other publication titles planned.

A further website is slated for launch later this year.

A seven-week run-up following the order has the system fully live, including Tark4 archive, website (www.focusmalaysia.my) and an off-site backup and disaster recovery system. Newsroom, workflow, editing, pagination and archiving are complemented by extensive multimedia functionality.

Plugins link to InDesign CS6 layout and a special ‘connector’ to the open source Drupal webCMS, allowing editorial staff to author, select and publish content directly from the GN4 system.

The Tark4 module provides full text indexing, search and retrieval functions, both through an editing client in-house and standard browsers.

Media and technology senior vice president K.K. Chong says the aim was to help grow businesses by giving them news that matters written with deep insights and expanded coverage.

“This is a weekly newspaper that caters to the palate of a diverse range of business leaders across key segments like property, financial services, telecommunications, IT, SMEs, and manufacturing,” he says.

HCK Capital Group is a diversified group with interests in media, property development, property investment, property management, and food and beverage.
