Version 4.0 features ‘seamless’ integration with Content Station, the editorial management application of WoodWing Enterprise, and uses the latest version of the Lucene search engine.
President Erik Schut says publishers can now the strengths of the two applications: “Many of our customers requested that we further blend digital asset management and multichannel publishing. The integration of these two products allows for a level of efficiency in publishing workflows that couldn’t have been imagined.”
The upgrade leverages version 3.6.2 of Lucene, with internal benchmark tests showing that even with 22 million assets, “hundreds of heavy users were able to search, click, edit and preview assets simultaneously without losing performance”.
With the main server of Elvis DAM 4.0 ported to Linux, WoodWing says it will continue to add support for additional platforms throughout the year.
The new version is also more stable and easier to use, with Java now included in the installer to improve installation and deployment.
