Swiss press maker Wifag has shaken up its management team, naming Thomas Doliwa as sales director following the appointment last year Michael Fleissner as chief executive succeeding the retiring Fritz Strasser. Doliwa, who replaces Götz Stein – who is also president of the board of directors – has experience on ‘both sides of the sales table. He sold Hell’s Digiset and Pressfax newspaper systems before joining Axel Springer as central technical purchasing manager, and then building-up the newly-founded KBA-Planeta after the reunification of Germany. He managed Heidelberg’s image capture and prepress business units, was president of Heidelberg France, and then managing director of Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses in the UK. Stein (pictured left with Doliwa) was Wifag’s ‘front man’ for many decades, and is credited with fashioning the company, its products and its various international contacts and connections. Wifag has also named Christian Miescher as new technical division manager, Bernhard Muth as his deputy, taking over from Kurt Recher, who has also retired.
