Like never, 'unlimited' is a big word... but it's the one newly-unified Newscycle Solutions is using the describe its support strategy.
And 'unified' is the one the company - formed from the July merger of DTI and Saxotech - is also using, this time for its product line.
In ten days time (September 16), the company plans to explain both terms in a webcast to customers of the former companies, and live at the DTIConnect conference in Salt Lake City.
A statement his week promises unlimited support and an upgrade path for all customers and all products. Five core solutions are based on previous DTI and Saxotech offerings and available as hosted 'cloud' solutions.
Saxotech Online digital content management system has been rebranded Digital, while the same company's former Mediaware Center becomes Newscycle Content, and Saxotech Connect becomes Audience.
Newscycle Circulation and Advertising are based on their DTI predecessors.
President Dan Paulus says addressing product overlap was a priority: "Our analysis included objective criteria such as market adoption, functionality and future extensibility," he says.
While pruning the combined offering considerably, the company is promising customers who have the latest versions of the former products "indefinite support", together with "bug fixes and essential development". An upgrade path to similar functional product, and an upgrade path on future platforms will be provided, and Newscycle says it will provide "published annual roadmaps with regular updates illustrating new feature development planned and the upgrade paths for all products".
The approach will enable the company to accelerate product delivery cycles, newly-appointed chief technology officer Talin Bingham says. “Collectively, we have the industry knowledge and experience to support all current products while delivering the next generation of innovative solutions that our customers need to compete.”
