South African publisher Ilanga has gone live with advertising and production solutions from MediaSpan.

The Durban-based publisher of three newspapers is using the US developer’s AdManagerPro and ProductionManagerPro products, adding functionality not provided by the previous booking and billing platform.

IT manager Vishal Nunkumar says the choice followed an investigation of

solutions that were feature rich, easy to use and maintain, and “at a price point that made sense”.

“We were further impressed with the companion product, ProductionManagerPro which we decided to implement as well", he says.

MediaSpan claims more than 1200 customers for AdManagerPro, which streamlines the advertising process by integrating multiple ad management functions into one toolset.

A standard bearer of isiZulu, Ilanga was founded in 1903 by John Langalibalele Dube, who went on to become one of the first presidents of the African National Congress, and remains one of the most successful newspapers in South Africa today.
