Industry veteran and GXpress columnist John Juliano re-establishes a connection with the former Tera product line on joining Miles 33.
Juliano – who was worldwide marketing manager for Tera Digital Publishing until its acquisition by the UK-headquartered company – has been appointed Miles 33 vice president of business development for North America.
The move follows a project for Miles 33 in the USA, and development of his own JJCS business, including the JReporter citizen journalism app.
He has been writing an exclusive column for GXpress since August 2012, and will continue to do so.
Miles is trebling its salesforce in North America as part of an aggressive plan to grow worldwide through acquisitions, recruitment and new products. Chief executive Mike Moore describes Juliano as a “well-known and highly respected industry expert whose opinions are sought and well recognised.
“Throughout his career he has been known for his ability to understand technology and the future directions of our industry. He has used this ability to present to the marketplace new and innovative products from vendors that became industry household names.”
“We have no doubt (he) will raise the awareness of Miles 33 and increase our company's presence in North America.”
Juliano has worked with most of the major international vendors, and been responsible for bringing international vendors to the US marketplace. He says Miles has “the high level of integrity, customer commitment and the right products to make it the dominant vendor in North America as it is in the UK”.
He points particularly to its level of customer commitment and support, and says the company’s five-year plan accurately reflects where he believes the industry is going, “The company has recently released the right innovative products for today, and has in the pipeline products that will just plain knock your socks off,” he says.
Miles 33 provides advertising, editorial and mobile publishing solutions for multi-channel media companies. It is backed by publicly traded private equity firm and asset manager American Capital, said to have $14 billion in capital resources under management.
Miles 33 has offices in Berkshire, UK; Connecticut and California, USA; Belo Horizonte, Brazil; Milan, Italy and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
