A new Touch module for alfa Media users provides the means for staff and freelancers to deliver content – including text, images, videos and audio – from anywhere in the world.

The tablet-based product also enables travelling editors to take an active part in production decisions. In addition to delivering new articles, they can update, edit and add to existing articles.

Currently the facility – which delivers safe and easy access to the CMS from via mobile devices and browsers – covers delivery of text and images, with video and audio material promised “soon”. Currently access is from platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows Phone (for tablet and smartphone respectively) as well as from HTML5-enabled browsers.

Features include offline buffering of new articles currently and being edited, and management of the underlying meta data for text and multimedia.

Voice input of text is possible with some devices.

Through the alfa editing system, topics can be planned and tasks delegated.
