German regional daily the Main-Echo has extended its red.web system with three new modules.
The Aschaffenburg-based publisher is strengthening its position for a digital future with modules for roster scheduling and deployment, an agency system and the new Atlas asset manager.
The latter is a high-performance DAM system for media-independent collation, management and archiving of content. The new software is introduced at the World Publishing Expo in Amsterdam (October 13-15).
Main-Echo will use the publishing organiser tool to plan topics and manage resources “even more transparently and efficiently”, managing director Ulrich Eymann says. The agency module will serve as a collection point for news agency content, filtering, prioritising and using content from diverse sources in a live setting.
And he says the new Atlas DAM will become the nodal point of the systems landscape: “The primary objective of its deep-rooted integration is to be able to find, filter and use content quickly and across modules. We'd like to bring about the best possible overview of the many years of high-quality journalistic work of our establishment", he says.
Main-Echo, one of red.web’s first customers, is produced eight editions with a daily paid circulation of about 74,000 copies, and complemented by consumer, leisure and lifestyle magazines.
