WKS subsidiary in Wassenberg, Germany, has ordered a second twin-web 80-page Lithoman heatset press from manroland.

Installation of the first press in 2013 has "fully paid off" for the company, formed by the 2009 merger of Westend Druckereibetriebe in Essen and Kraft-Schloetels in Wassenberg.

The investment follows a policy of using latest technology, with investments focussedon customer demands. Group managing director Ralph Dittmann says the Lithoman presslines already running are "absolutely outstanding regarding the stability of the print run, quality and, last but not least, productivity.

"After a very good cooperation and an excellent handling of the complex first 160-page press project, we were certain about the fact that we would again opt for the team from Augsburg.

The new press with a 4500 mm maximum web width joins eight other manroland presses ranging from 32-160 pages at the Wassenberg and Essen sites.
