KBA Asia Pacific general manager Stefan Segger will move to Germany to head the company's key Digital & Web Solutions growth business in October.

The announcement positions Segger (48) as sales director at KBA-Digital & Web, charged with taking the German press maker into diverse digital printing markets while maintaining and building the challenging newspaper and commercial web segment.

His role at the helm of KBA-Asia-Pacific will be taken on by Andreas Friedrich, currently web sales and service general manager for China, North and East Asia.

Segger joined Albert-Frankenthal in 1984. He was appointed general manager of the Singapore-based Asia Pacific subsidiary, 12 years ago and later added responsibility for KBA-Australasia.

The company credits him and his team with considerably expanding KBA's market position in the growth region. "A focus of his new role will be to establish KBA digital presses (RotaJet series) more firmly on the market and expand on his good business ties with commercial and newspaper companies active in the field of web offset printing further," says a spokesman. "His experience in key account management is extremely beneficial."

Married and with two children, he takes over as head of the sales team for newspaper, commercial and digital presses at KBA's headquarters in Würzburg on October 1.

Friedrich (40) will take over the helm of KBA-Asia-Pacific. He has been active in web press sales since 2001 and has worked at KBA-China in Shanghai since 2005. As general manager for the sales and service of KBA web presses in China, North and East Asia he also has many years of experience and a raft of contacts in the Asian market. He is married and speaks English and Chinese.
