Kerala giant Mathrubhumi is following press upgrades with new Krause platesetters for its ten print sites.
An order for 20 of Krause's violet-imaging LS Performance 250 platesetters placed by Mathrubhumi Printing & Publishing at DRUPA is understood to be one of the largest received by the German manufacturer. The CTP systems are complemented by Krause BlueFin processors and JetNet workflow.
One of the most widely read daily newspapers in Kerala, Mathrubhumi publishes a number of editions and supplements, plus magazines including the weekly Mathrubhumi Azhchappathippu literary magazine.
Installation of the new systems follows the commissioning of new high-speed TKS presses at key sites, the fourth of which was installed in Kozhikode last year following Thiruvananthapuram, Kochin and Kannur. They replace 25 older systems, some of which have been in use for more than ten years.
Supplier Krause India represents both the makers of the platesetters and TKS presses, as well as QI Press Controls, whose register systems have been installed at the four print sites.
