A new partnership between Goss International and Elettra will see Goss become the Italian blanket washing systems maker's exclusive dealer in the Americas.
Goss says the collaboration will provide new benefits for commercial press users through dramatic waste reductions. Elettra uses cloth-based technology in its portfolio of VOC-free automatic blanket washer systems.
Goss Americas sales vice president Graham Trevett says the agreement was driven by ongoing efforts aimed at delivering new leaner production solutions: "We have been systematically working through our product portfolio looking for ways to enhance our service to customers, with a particular focus on waste. By investigating other suppliers in the industry and using our expertise to vet their methods and technologies, we can ensure a good fit with our own systems while giving a helping hand to customers in improving their competitive edge."
Elettra makes two automatic blanket wash systems - FastWash which is installed inside print units for a mechanical and chemical cleaning action, and CombiWash, which applies cleaning solution across the web at paper infeed. The FastWash cycle takes up to 12 seconds while the press is in production or at the end of the job, or up to 80 seconds at crawl speeds. CombiWash performs a wash while the press is running in less than nine seconds, with waste claimed to be less than 300 copies for a double-circumference heatset press and less than 600 revolutions on Goss Sunday 3000 and 2000 presses.
