HTML5 tool takes video editing outside

A new story production tool provides an easy way of editing video and distributing it to platforms including social media and media asset management systems.

With the aim of eliminating the need for storytellers to be technical wizards, Vizrt's browser-based (HTML5) Viz Story editing tool that allows the journalists to quickly create compelling video stories with state of the art 3D graphics, and easily distribute them online and to social media.

Video can come from any source including professional video shot from the field, mobile phone video or files from a media asset management (MAM) system. Users search ingested media and add to a timeline for editing.

Multiple clips of any aspect ratio can be edited, high-quality graphics and text added using templates, and rendered by a 3D graphics rendering system. Keyframed panning keeps the point of interest always in the centre of the frame - even when using 16:9 video in a square video project.

Other editing features include overlay video, audio and graphics, video transitions, and a preview of graphics animations.

The final video can be published instantly, including Facebook, FTP, to disk or to an asset management system. The system also includes a third-party REST API for custom publishing workflows.
