technotrans has launched its new regional headquarters in Hong Kong, consolidating Asia Pacific business activities and centralising administration and other key support services for companies in the region under one roof.
Newly-appointed regional managing director Ralph Pernizsak says the step will establish one solid, cost-efficient and successful operating company, supported by key manufacturing and branch offices throughout the region.
He says support for OEM and end-user customers will be improved and costs reduced. “It will also give us the opportunity to maximise our manpower and knowhow for the entire region,” he says.
technotrans will also develop sales activities further with new sales and service centres in the region.
After driving the establishment of the Asia-Pacific operation over ten years, vice chairman of technotrans Asia Pacific Rolf Zeiler has stepped down from his active managing role, but will remain as a consultant.
“After this intensive groundwork, I always wanted to have a break, and what better opportunity could there be than this restructuring,” he says.
Pernizsak says the move to Hong Kong is strategic: “We are sure this is the right step to develop positively, despite the economic pressure in the printing industry.
“The Asia Pacific market forms part of our global development strategy and this step assures all stakeholders of our continued future growth and success in the region,” he says.
General manager (Australia & NZ) Graham Castley says that while the Australian office was initially reporting to Singapore, the direct line of support is now via the new Hong Kong regional headquarters.
“Although this recent change is expected to streamline our local operations, it is unlikely our end customers in Australia/New Zealand will experience any specific differences in day to day business activities with us,” he says.
“Here at technotrans Australia, we look forward to working with an improved internal structure and a dedicated team of support staff within the Asia-Pacific region.”
