A new generation of Kodak thermal platesetters offer savings for lower-throughput users, plus new control options.
The Achieve T400/T800 is a lower-cost platesetter in the 16-28 plate per hour range, with a range of automation options and the lowest claimed power consumption of any thermal CTP.
Innovations include a new multi-cassette unit just available, joins existing auto-unload, autoloader, single-cassette and in-line punch options. The new generation also cuts power to 400 watts while imaging, a saving of up to 64 per cent.
Due to be released later this year, a new CTP mobile control app will allow users to attend to operations, wherever they are, while monitoring production. Open infrastructure means the platesetter with Print Console 5 can be integrated into Kodak or third party prepress workflow via TIFF files and optional JDF/JMF connectivity for job and device status information.
