Goss cracks SLT obsolescence issue on M600s

Goss says it has worked out a way of replicating obsolete SLT power converters on its older M-600 presses.

The presses run on the converters which control main motors for units and postpress units such as the folder, but the original supplier has stopped support and former manufacturer Heidelberg has declared them obsolete as well.

With new SLT power converters no longer available, and replacement to a newer version requiring a costly change of the entire control system, Goss says it has been able to "recreate" SLT power converters and their electronics using fully new components.

Goss says it has developed substitutes related the M-600 CPTronic shafted presses, and new SLT drives are available in Europe and the Americas. A single version of SLT is fully interchangeable with both SLT references used on CPTronic presses.
