Publish Asia 2010, WAN-Ifra's annual Asian newspaper summit, has been revamped to offer three focused conferences to run concurrently, from May 11-13, in Bangkok.
The events will focus on successful case studies showing how media companies in Asia and elsewhere have managed to maintain profits during the crisis or have prepared effectively for the recovery. They will explore innovations in the printing plant, the newsroom and the sales department and showcase original ventures for creating new revenue streams.
Organisers say for its tenth anniversary, Publish Asia aims to create the most exciting learning and meeting platform for the Asian newspaper industry. It will include the following:
The CEO Conference, conceived for senior management executives, aims to cover business issues that are current and relevant to Asian publishers.
The Newsroom Summit will tackle the problems and challenges facing editors, managing editors, news editors, chief reporters and all those who are involved in leading and managing newsrooms in a multiple media environment.
The Production Conference, aimed especially at technical and production directors, prepress and plant managers as well as IT heads who are tasked with managing the publishing and printing operations, will concentrate on new technologies and trends with a special emphasis on cost-saving tools and techniques in production.
The Expo, located for the first time at a 1000 m2 venue, will extensively showcase the latest technology and service offerings for optimizing newspaper production on print as well as on new media platforms.
Other events held at Publish Asia will include one-day learning seminars on specific topics and on-site visits to cutting-edge media houses in Bangkok. Last but not least, the winners of the Asia Media Awards 2010 will be presented during a gala dinner on May 12. Deadline for submission to the Asia Media Awards is 1st March 2010.
Orgaisers are also calling for papers for the event from media professionals willing to share innovative ideas and relevant experiences with their peers. Contact Gilles Demptos at gilles.demptos@wan-ifra.org before February 28.
