Indian publishers were prolific winners in WAN-Ifra's 2019 Print Innovation Awards, winners of which were announced today.
Honours will be handed out in Berlin on the first day of the Ifra World Publishing Expo, October 9.
India's Times Group won two top awards for product innovation - a gold for 'colouring our imagination' and silver for an XL reverse flap.
The bronze in this category went to DB Corp for Sardat Vallabh Bhai Patel panorama, which also won silver (for Women Bhaskkar) and bronze (for the 3D Jodhpur edition) in the special editions category, and gold in that for products for young readers for Yougle (pictured).
Another Indian winner was Malayala Manorama, taking silver (for QR Code and Mini Farm - Manorama Weekly) and bronze (Manorama Go Green and News Box).
Indonesian publisher Kompas Daily won bronze for its redesign of the daily newspaper.
Some 61 projects from 23 countries participated in the competition, which was judged by World Printers Forum board members.
