SWUG New Zealand is back, with a three-day event at the Wairakei Resort, Taupo, in October. Having deferred last year’s tenth annual conference, the 2010 event will be held immediately after the Print NZ conference being held at the same venue. SWUG NZ dates are October 13 (half-day), October 14, and October 15 (golf day), following the Print NZ conference dates of October 11-13. This year’s topic is ‘Where to from here?’ The programme promises presentations on UV printing, heatset/coldset inline printing, press upgrades, ‘chemical free’ plate technology, postpress equipment, as well as other new developments. Other components of this conference will be: SWUG NZ Awards for printing excellence; Speakers covering a wide range of topics including health and safety, print industry and business trends. The third day of the conference has been set aside for the inaugural SWUG NZ Ambrose Golf day. Teams need to consist of four people, but sites which cannot muster a full team can ‘make up’ at the event. Chairman of SWUG NZ is Bob Anderson, with committee members John Green, Ray Clarkson, Laura Tither, Ian Gibson, Sue Archibald and Dan Blackbourn. Delegates are invited to contact Anderson or Blackbourn is there is a specific topic they would like discussed. They can also be contacted with any enquiries at Bob.Anderson@WaikatoTimes.co.nz or dan.blackbourn@apnprint.co.nz
