Two new solutions for high-speed inkjet web finishing have been announced by rivals Vits and Tecnau.
New from Tecnau is the StreamFolder 5152 (above), a book signature solution for high speed digital presses including cut and stack line for short-run work - with a tack-gluing option - operating inline or near-line at up to 230 mpm.
The 5152 plow-folds the web once or twice along the travel direction, with a very strong folded web handling lighter weight papers better, and taut webs generaing the exceptionally smooth paper flow required for high-speed operations.
The StreamFolder 5152 also features 'north/south job offsetting', offsetting sets/book-blocks back & forth in the direction of travel to maintain full speed even for multiple consecutive small sets.
The system includes Tecnau's StreamFolder f50 plow-fold module, Cutter c51 single-cutting cutter, and shingling Stacker s52.
The Revolution 50 series are designed for top speeds, and feature Internet-of-Things (IoT) compatibility and media flexibility required for demanding digital print environments.
• Latest development of Vits International's high speed, multiweb digital finishing for books can be used for direct mail and saddle stitched products.
