Postpress and bindery equipment service operations at manroland Goss's centre in Effingham, Illinois are being moved to the company's Americas headquarters in Durham, New Hampshire.

manroland Goss Americas says the relocation - which brings to an end 38 years at the former Loudon Machining site - will primarily benefit customers. Durham-based engineering and customer service teams will be able to fuller use the established service and support infrastructure, leading to faster response times and improved 24/7 support.

Established in 1982, the Loudon Machining facility served as a service, rebuild and custom machining facility.

"While we will dearly miss some of our teammates and our connection to the Effingham community, we are very excited about the positive impact this transition will have on our business," managing director Dave Soden says.

Leveraging experience and expertise of Durham-based teams will enable tailored retrofits and support obsolescence management of postpress equipment, helping extend their life and maximise overall equipment performance.

Soden says "much of the talent" from the Loudon organisation is being retained.
