Two Compacta heatset presses at Saudi textbook printer NPPC are to be brought up-to-date by maker Koenig & Bauer.

The two Compacta C408s were installed in 2002 and 2013 at National Printing & Packaging in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Reelstands on the older press have already upgraded as part of a future proofing project. The next step – the retrofit of PLC and control technology – aims to significantly increase productivity, efficiency and reliability.

Chief executive Mansour Al-Sanie said the operational enhancements would optimise performance and further increase market competitiveness.
