Philippines book printer Rex Printing is installing a new Goss Community SSC press this summer in Quezon City in metropolitan Manila. A four-high press configuration features a 578 mm cut-off, two automatic zero-speed splicers and an SSC folder with quarterfold capabilities. The new press will give the fast-growing company – now one of the largest commercial book printers in its region – the ability to produce eight pages in full colour when running one web, or 16 pages in spot color running two webs at up to 35,000 copies per hour. “Technology is the backbone of our growth ,” executive vice president Dominador D.
