Mobile Viewpoint has used the NAB 2015 show in Las Vegas to launch a "global marketplace" for live journalism based on its bonded streaming technology.
WebStreamur - which uses bonded IP channels to live stream from any location - will be presented via apps for MacBook, iPhone and Android and three dedicated devices.
The platform uses YouTube to deliver sponsored live streams and Twitter for announcements and instant feedback.
the company says that while it can be used for any event, they will focus on delivery of college sports content around the world.
Chief executive Michel Bais says wireless bonded video transmitters and apps will unleash the potential of unique events wherever they happen: "Since the beginning we have looked into the broadcast of smaller events on the internet, and the growing popularity of watching video online via streaming platforms like YouTube, LiveStream, Meerkat and Periscope opens a marketplace for its delivery," "This makes it possible, with our bonding technology, to deliver a high quality end-to-end solution and distinguishes ours from other #mojo products."
He says WebStreamur will give smaller content producers and sport teams easy access to a bigger audience and a global marketplace to monetise their content."
Mobile Viewpoint uses its own H.264 and H.265 codec implementations and technology to allow HD video to be transmitted over bonded IP connections. Customers include major broadcasters such as BBC, Al-Arabiya, Sky Sports News and NBC Sports.
