All the staff of Dutchsoftware will move to WoodWing’s nearby head office, following the Elvis DAM developer’s acquisition.
The deal to acquire Dutchsoftware enables WoodWing to enter DAM market with the innovative Elvis digital asset management product, and comes just ahead of the annual IfraExpo event in Frankfurt.
Established in 2000, Dutchsoftware started development of Elvis DAM in 2008, leading to its recognition as an important emerging player by analysts.
“Publishers and corporates are looking for solutions that support their increasing multichannel publishing activities,” WoodWing chief executive Hans Janssen says. “Rich-media presence is of major importance and Elvis DAM makes digital assets such as images and videos easily accessible and manageable.”
He says the acquisition will help both WoodWing and Elvis clients, and strengthen its market position. The companies share a number of integration partners worldwide, and integrated systems are being used by a number of clients worldwide.
WoodWing president Erik Schut says digital asset management is strategic for the company: “Elvis DAM will continue to be developed as a separate product and we will further invest in the product by expanding the team with dedicated resources,” he says.
“We will also continue to develop the core DAM features of Enterprise and keep integrating with third-party DAM providers.”
Being “almost neighbours”, WoodWing and Dutchsoftware had always had a close relationship. Bastiaan Born, commercial director of Dutchsoftware, says the acquisition will boost development and adoption of Elvis. “Having such a powerful name behind the product will help expand the installed base,” he says.
