Digital Technology International has honoured three of its US customers for innovative use of the company’s publishing software.

Presentations were made at a user group meeting in St Paul, Minnesota.

Leading the list was San Diego’s ‘U-T’ for a print and digital bundle initiative which exploits functionality in DTI Circulation to offer a range of digital products to maximise revenue, content value and customer satisfaction. The process streamlines registration process, has brought incremental revenue growth and improved upsell and cross-selling abilities as well as improving the handling of emails.

The ‘Deseret News’ in Salt Lake City, Utah, had teamed ContentPublisher and Adobe’s InDesign to create a floating palette of free-form layouts in a project called Architect. Productivity was increased with designers able to quickly create dynamic layouts from styles and library pieces created inhouse.

Third place went to the ‘Register-Guard’ in Eugene, Oregon, for its innovative ‘adaptive/responsive’ web design using ContentPublisher/Lightning with HTML5 and CSS3.

“Innovation has driven Digital Technology since the beginning,” says Don Oldham, the company’s chief executive and founder. “Having innovative partners putting the technology to its highest and best use by adding their own creativity is the fulfillment of our aspiration to make a real difference in the lives and work of all of our newspaper customers.”
