Cool tools to enhance Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite – including slider and hotspots – have been launched by developer WoodWing as a free beta.

The SmartDPS toolset sits on top of DPS and is geared toward designers, agencies and publishers creating digital publications on a regular basis.

The company says it speeds the design process by offering easy tools to create popups, nested interactivity, scrollable areas and many other interactive elements.

Scrollable areas, hotspots and nested interactivity are delivered via native InDesign panels, and there is also a ‘growing’ collection of HTML5 widgets which add interactivity.

“It’s hard to imagine making a great product better, but we looked at Adobe DPS and found ways to make it faster, easier, and more efficient without sacrificing elegance and first-class user design,” says a spokesman.
