UK technology pacesetter Telegraph Media is moving to DTI’s cloud platform, of which it will be the largest European user.
The companies have announced an upgrade and migration covering the news and ad content management products.
TMG the Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph, its weekly world edition, the Telegraph.co.uk website and other titles.
Independent media consultant to the group Allan Marshall says supporting servers and software is “not our core business.”
Chief technology officer Richard Halstead – with whom Marshall has worked closely on the transformation of TMG’s technology process and structure over the last 18 months – says the commitment to DTI Cloud and the associated publishing model is key to remaining competitive in an ever-changing media landscape.
"Telegraph Media Group has successfully evolved into a multi-product operation that continues to deliver the highest quality journalism,” he says.
TMG is DTI’s largest European customer, a “huge endorsement” of its cloud publishing platform, according to president Dan Paulus. “The Telegraph will have the digital infrastructure and flexibility to deliver content in new ways and to pursue new digital revenue opportunities. They will also increase their innovation advantage, in the most competitive news media market in the world, by always having the very latest software versions.”
Marshall says DTI had “a real software-as-a-service solution and someday, all newspapers will operate this way. They provide true SaaS architecture and have invested what was needed to offer this type of solution properly.”
