Atex says the ‘built in’ paywall in its latest web CMS release is the industry’s first.

The version 10.8 web CMS release is based on the company’s Polopoly architecture.

“With the industry’s first built-in paywall, the release will enable media-rich companies to generate new revenues through subscription-based or metered access to premium content,” says a spokesman.

The upgrade also includes a lightweight HTML5 authoring tool and a new user interface for the statistics module. An upgraded REST web service will make integration with third-party systems easier, while other features include new and updated plug-ins for Atex Engage, live photo coverage with ShootItLive, a new gallery and a form builder.
