Owner Stibo Group has merged its specialised magPeople business into Danish newspaper systems provider CCI.
The move brings together specialised skills covering newspaper, magazine and digital publishing, with magPeople as a business unit of CCI.
Says digital services vice president Thea Schmidt Borgholm, who will lead the unit, “We see converging requirements across print formats and digital publishing channels among the larger media corporations.
“The product portfolio of newspaper publishers often includes magazines and magazine-like special sections where increased collaboration and efficient content management may be required. It is equally obvious that the design of print and tablet magazines has very similar characteristics.”
magPeople specialised in flexible solutions for magazine production including integrated publishing platform CAOS and plugins for Adobe InDesign. Its reference list includes magazine publishers Bonnier, Aller and Meredith Corp.
“From the very beginning, magPeople has had a keen focus on combining simplicity and efficiency in their solutions, and their development process has been characterized by a highly agile and creative approach. These are core values that we will preserve in the new CCI business unit,” says Schmidt Borgholm.
All magPeople employees have transferred to the new CCI business unit, except chief executive Søren Rehné, who has left the company.
