Berlin nod for News Australia's Lineup order

The long-awaited announcement of News Corp Australia's Lineup advertising system order is made today, timed for the opening of WPE in Berlin.

Neither party had been willing to talk about the order, which had been an open secret in industry circles - and reported in GXpress -  and replicates a News UK installation.

Now as the Berlin show opens, both parties have announced that the Lineup Systems AdPoint implementation has gone live, unifying ad management across the group's titles in the same way that EidosMedia's Methode is unifying editorial. The company says the deployment includes multiple rate card management, network targeting, buy-out/inventory management and increased transparency, providing improved organisational effectiveness and customer interaction with digital sales teams.

Lineup chief executive Michael Mendoza says the order "not only increases our international footprint but provides us with another significant and highly valued client in a territory that is very important and strategic for us".

News director of sales operations and systems describes it as an "important strategic step in our business transformation process in driving new digital revenues through greater customer engagement, sales team collaboration and effectiveness.

"The platform provides flexibility and scalability in what we have planned for our customer offerings and what we to want to achieve for our future business. As we make changes to our sales model, AdPoint will allow us to support that change."

The web-based system has Ben integrated with "some" of News' existing systems, and is implemented for more than 250 seats. It covers digital sites including metropolitan sites such as News.com.au and The Australian, community, regional and magazine websites, plus mobile channel platforms published to smartphones, tablet apps and web.
