Goss International says it will highlight its differentiating web offset technologies and high levels of automation at PacPrint09 in May. Centre stage will be a video presentation of the new Goss M-600 Folia press, unveiled at DRUPA last year. Combining sheetfed and web concepts, the press use new sheeter technology to deliver a different approach to printing a wide variety of coated stocks with doubl the productivity of sheetfed perfectors. With its theme ‘New Ways for Print’, the company will also present the benefits of its range of web offset solutions for commercial and newspaper production including technologies such as Automatic Transfer, pinless folding, Autoplate, FPS, DigiRail digital inking and digital workflow technologies. The environmental advantages of the latest Ecocool drying technology and the new Triliner technology for compact newspaper formats will be among the other Goss innovations to be featured at the show. Tim Mercy, Goss International’s vice president of commercial sales, Asia Pacific, says PacPrint is a great opportunity for the company to interact with customers and showcase products tailored for the Australasian market. These include the best-selling 16-page M-600 commercial web press, the highly automated 24 to 96-page Sunday press series for both long and shorter run commercial publications or catalogues and wide format print applications. “The newly installed 80-page Sunday 4000 press at AIW Printing is a great example of how modern technology and automation has delivered competitive advantages.” Peter Kirwan, Goss vice president of newspaper sales, Asia Pacific, says the Goss Our team will be available to discuss all its newspaper and commercial web press, and postpress solutions throughout the show. The company will also offer advice from its Lifetime Support team on issues such as productivity and extending the competitive life of existing equipment. “Through audits, press rebuilds, upgrades and enhancements, a greater number of customers are keener than ever to get the very best out of their existing presses without having to invest in brand new press equipment,” he says. PacPrint09 is being held in Melbourne from May 26-30.
