CCI has acquired North American implementation partner Red Badge Consulting.

The business founded in 2005 by former journalist and systems editor Andy Boltax - who worked with CCI systems at customers including the Washington Post and Tribune Publishing - also implements workflow and software solutions in other industries.

CCI chief executive Dan Korsgaard says publishers see a need to focus more on their core business: "We see an increased need for helping our customers in fast and efficient training and rollout of technology. Adding the skills of Red Badge to the CCI family will enable us to better deliver more of the services that media companies have handled themselves in the past."

While CCI consultants handle the project management, implementation of the solutions, setting up and configuring workflows and systems, Red Badge often assisted with additional product setup, end user training and assistance.

Boltax claims to be CCI's biggest fan: "There's nothing better out there. "It enables journalists in incredible ways to do their work productively - so yes, I'm very pleased with the possibilities of this new setup with CCI and Red Badge," he says.

Red Badge - based in Rockville, Maryland - will continue to operate as an independent company within the CCI family, headed by Boltax. CCI's US office is in Atlanta, Georgia.
