A series of 'apps' add functionality to Miles 33's new Gemstone inventory sales system, the company says.
Designed for media publishers wanting to maximise digital sales, it will have its first public showing at the Ifra World Publishing Expo in Frankfurt this month.
Miles 33 says the new platform is similar in concept to today's 'app stores', adding functional richness and adaptability.
Development director John Skarin says the approach was to take a web services infrastructure which could be expanded by adding apps and combine it with workflow, advertising and sales knowledge. A workflow app can automate processes and help guide staff through new policies ensuring consistency and fail safe execution of tasks.
An audience analysis app gives insights into behaviour to help target inventory sales.
Another app shows what inventory is still available, while others provide scheduling and booking functionality.
"Combined, these apps offer sales of web inventory, online display, mobile, print and video ads," says Skarin.
There are also reporting facilities and a single-point dashboard. Miles says Gemstone can be deployed on-premises or in a cloud.
