Just months after starting up its new Goss M-600 heatset web press, Bangkok based printer and publisher, Kilen Printing has placed an order with Goss International for its sixth Community SSC press, this time of 14 units. Part of the SiamSport Group, Kilen Printing has undertaken a large expansion of its facility since 2005 to accommodate its range of Goss web offset printing presses. The new Community SSC system, due to be on production during the middle of 2009, will join a Goss Universal newspaper press and five other Community SSC presses. The M-600 is its first Goss commercial press. Sorraphan Sitthisuk, deputy managing director at Kilen Printing, comments, “The Community SSC press has proved very reliable for us over the years, as our repeat investments show. Continually updated with the latest innovations, this press model is a leader in its field, and we are more than satisfied with the print quality we achieve.” The new 14-unit press will be configured as three four-high towers and two mono units with one SSC folder. The order also includes five zero-speed splicers. Sitthisuk adds, “Employing the same technology as we already have installed enables a quicker start-up for our press crews and negates the lengthy learning curve that we would undergo with a competitive technology.” Established in 1985, Kilen Printing employs around 430 people at its site in Bangkok, Thailand. SiamSport prints six daily sports newspapers and more than 25 monthly magazines including 'FHM', 'Stuff', 'Car', 'Cawaii', 'Ray' and 'Casaviva'.
