A 96-page Goss Sunday 5000 will replace two 48-page presses at Spanish giant Rotocobrhi in Madrid.

Format options will be expanded by the installation of both a PCF3 combination folder and an additional short grain folder, allowing 96 full A4 magazine pages per cylinder revolution to be printed with maximum operational flexibility.

The press will be installed in the second half of 2018.

Rotocobrhi will expand its magazine, retail and catalogue production capabilities, increasing page capacity in these markets.

Chief executive José Maria Camacho says retail is a growing market: "We have seen more of our business coming from this sector, where the product adds value to the customer experience as well as promoting their merchandise.

"We needed to improve efficiency as well as capacity. Adding the Sunday 5000 with its wider web width will help us to increase our services and productivity in the future."

Rotocobrhi is part of by Walstead Group, which acquired it in 2015 alongside Barcelona-based gravure printer Eurohueco, and are together the largest long-run commercial and publications printer in Spain. Walstead owns Wyndeham Group, the UK's largest web offset printer, and Leykam Group in Austria.

Goss business development vice president Theo Buchmeyer says the Sunday 5000 is designed for high output, quality and versatility. "With fast make-readies and low waste, as well as its smaller non-print area and shorter cut-off to save paper, this is an ideal solution for Rotocobrhi as they expand into the fast-moving retail market."
