Agfa says its new Adamas thermal plate will bring new levels of robustness to newspaper and commercial web applications.
Based on the company's ThermoLink technology, it is slated for release earlt this year.
Claimed to have 'every benefit' of chem-free solutions, it boasts efficiency in plate throughput and run length, with optimal press performance, zero water and up to 75 per cent less waste than "similar products".
The pre-heat-free, chem-free photopolymer plate
combines an image quality of 240 lpi Sublima, with run lengths of up to 350,000 copies with low dot gain and compatibility with most thermal platesetters. It is suitable for conventional UV and low-power UV inks).
