A meeting of Sydney Pressgang at Penrith Museum of Printing in September will be an opportunity for those interested to see the newly-renovated museum 'in action'.

A tour of the museum on Friday September 7 at 11am will be followed by lunch at the Penrith Paceway Club.

Former Fairfax production chief and SWUG president Bob Lockley tells GXpress the museum has done an excellent job of "preserving the past for the future". It collects, operates, conserves and showcases letterpress printing machinery and equipment so as to keep alive letterpress history, knowledge and skills for present and future generations.

"There will be equipment operating and volunteer staff on hand to answer any questions," he says urging members and non-members to "come along and support this important part of our print heritage".

The tour and lunch are available to anyone interested. Please contact Michelle on 0295401019 or michelleb@dschemport.com.au

Bookings close August 31.
