News says it has doubled its team of digital journalists with a revamp of its Sky News Australia website.
The company says content will expand to include original text news reporting, with News Corp Australia moving to commercially represent “all digital inventory” on the site.
The moves follow deals which will put the channel on Southern Cross Austereo and Win networks from August 1.
Chief executive Paul Whittaker says the investment follows a period of “record audience growth and engagement” across broadcast and digital platforms.
“Our digital footprint has grown significantly over the last 18 months, with our website alone delivering more than five million monthly video views,” he said.
SkyNews.com.au claims a current unique audience of 900,000 according to Nielson data, with 5.4 million video views and six million page views according to figures using Brightcove and Google analytics.
