Adobe has launched a series of integrated generative AI modules for applications including Creative Cloud… and a new way of paying for them.
The Adobe Firefly also integrates with Adobe Express and Experience Cloud. The company whose apps helped launch the desktop revolution has hailed “a new era of creativity” for its Creative Cloud members with AI built into workflows, and “the promise of new creative magic”.
Firefly and Express Premium are now included with the subscription-based Creative Cloud, powering Generative Fill in Photoshop to add, remove, or replace objects in images using brief text prompts.
Initially – “to enable broad access to and adoption” – Creative Cloud subscribers get a monthly allocation of token-like credits with the option of buying additional (slower) ones; in November, the price to new subscribers will be US$4.99/100.
Subscribers will be able to turn a text-based prompt into image and vector content in Photoshop, Illustrator, Express and Firefly.
Beta customers using Photoshop have already generated more than a billion pieces of art as part of their own unique work, with Adobe “blown away by the amazing content” produced during betas of Generative Fill and Generative Expand in Adobe Photoshop, Generative Recolor in Illustrator and Text to Image and Text Effects in Adobe Express.
